Derek is a Chapmanville native and resident who graduated as Valedictorian from Chapmanville High School in 2000. After
suffering a major knee injury during his senior year, Derek attended West Virginia Universiy receiving his udergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology.
Derek entered WVU's first class of doctoral level trained Physical Therapists. In 2008, he earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) graduating with honors.
Derek returned to his hometown in 2008 as an employee with Logan Regional Medical Center's Outpatient Rehabilitation Services.
Since that time, Derek has volunteered his services as a consultant with Chapmanville Regional High School athletics, providing
on-field assessments and treatment of injured athletes. In 2012, Derek opened Rebound Physical Therapy & Sports Performance in
Chapmanville. Derek also is a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy. He is an active member of Chapmanville Little League's Board of Directors, President of the Chapmanville Tiger
Touchdown Club, and a trustee at Crawley Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Derek is married to Angel (Raines) Dalton, formerly of Huntington, WV and they have two children, Olivia and Brody. |
